Project: Triodos Bank
Location: Bristol
Details: 1 x GreenWall
Triodos Bank is a company that provides a uniquely sustainable and transparent banking service. The interior design of Triodos’ Bristol office is a reflection of their company values, with as many of their office materials as possible coming from sustainable sources.
We have worked with Triodos in supplying and maintaining their interior planting for several years, and we recently installed a new 7.25m2 GreenWall system in their reception area. This living wall includes a variety of plant species, such as Spathiphyllum (Peace Lily), Croton Petra, and Ficus Pumila.
The Benefits Of The GreenWall:
The wall improves air quality – each 1m² of living wall can extract 2.3 kg of CO2 from the air and produce 1.7 kg of oxygen per year. The plants also absorb harmful toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde from the air.
It has a great visual impact, and creates a stunning focal point for the reception area. It is a unique feature that engages the attention of visitors, creates a talking point, and helps make the Triodos brand memorable.
It reduces the ambient temperature by absorbing sunlight. This lessens the need for air conditioning in the office, thus saving money on energy costs.
The GreenWall reduces noise levels by acting as a sound barrier and absorbing sound waves, making it the perfect solution for reducing ambient sound in the busy reception area.
It helps improve employee health and wellbeing – biophilia in offices is proven to reduce stress levels and minor illnesses like headaches and respiratory irritations. Healthier and more relaxed staff can work more efficiently; studies have found that introducing interior plants can increase productivity by at least 15%, and reduce stress levels by around 50%.
