Enhancing Menzies’ Office with Biophilic Design
Client: Menzies - A leading UK business advisory and accountancy firm
Location: Woking
The Background
Menzies, a well established accountancy and advisory firm with an international reach, recently moved into the second floor of Midas House in Woking. Their new office underwent a full makeover to create a vibrant and modern workspace enhancing employee well-being with a welcoming environment featuring a large breakout room, collaborative workspaces, and plenty of natural light.
PlantCare has an ongoing national contract with Menzies. Having worked with them previously at their other existing offices in Stevenage and Solent, we were tasked with integrating biophilic design solutions to bring natural elements into the workspace.
The Solution
Working closely with commercial interior design and build specialists 3-Space, PlantCare introduced a range of planting solutions to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the office.
Key Design Elements:
Bespoke Planter in Breakout Room: A custom built planter was installed with low-level planting to divide the breakout area from the main office, fostering a sense of separation while maintaining an open feel.
Cabinet Top Planters: Planters were placed on top of storage cabinets without taking up additional floor space. This design choice helped to create visual breaks, add privacy, and enhance the overall work environment.
Floor Standing Planters: Positioned throughout the office, including meeting rooms, these planters added greenery to key areas while contributing to a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere.
Bespoke Trough Planter: Designed specifically for the space, this feature brought additional greenery into the office.
Box Insert Planters for Display Units: Carefully selected low-level plants were added to display units, bringing in small succulent plants while maximising available space.
PlantCare’s ongoing partnerships with Menzies continues to support their commitment to employee wellness through biophilic design solutions across multiple office locations.
